The Medicine Lodge Confederacy (MLC) is a non-profit 501c3 organization founded in 2009. It was founded by a group of Native Americans who are predominantly members of the Mandan Hidatsa Arikara (MHA) Nation and who are experienced professionals and scholars from many different backgrounds and disciplines.
Our Mission
The Medicine Lodge Confederacy will provide opportunities to build indigenous cultural and spiritual knowledge, awareness, and infrastructure for all generations through the sacred medicine teachings of Mother Corn that connects us to our Creator and the divine universe.
Our Vision
Through prayer, unity, commitment, and love for the Creator, we will achieve wellness in mind, body, spirit, community and environment.
Projects
Language Community
The MLC has developed a language community called “Strikes The Enemy”. They consist of parents and grandparents working together as a community to become fluent in Arikara and teach their children. They are all committed to learning the language while learning
